Privacy policy
Ogami is a card collecting app: you open free packs of cards made by creators, collect them and trade them with other people. Creators make their sets in Ogami Studio on the web. This page says what we store, where it lives, who can see it, and how to delete it. Questions: support@ogami.app.
Who we are
Ogami (“we”) runs the Ogami apps for iPhone and Android, the website at ogami.app and Ogami Studio at dash.ogami.app. Contact: support@ogami.app.
What we collect
When you use the apps
| Account | Your email address and, if your account has one, your name. They come from how you sign in: Apple, Google or a code sent to your email. |
|---|---|
| Packs and cards | The packs you get and open, the cards in your collection with their serial numbers (“Copy #12”), and your free pack timer. |
| Trade offers | The cards you offer and the cards you ask for, whether you posted the offer to the board, its status, and the first name on your account. When you accept or decline someone’s offer, we record that it was you. |
| Reports | Sets you report and the reason you picked. You don’t write anything in a report. |
| Installation ID | A random ID the app creates the first time it runs. It is sent when you get a pack, so links that give one pack per person work, and with your push token. It identifies nothing else. It stays when you sign out; on iPhone it can also outlast reinstalling the app. |
| Notifications | If you allow notifications, the push token your phone gives the app (from Apple or Google), linked to your account, so we can tell you when someone answers your trade offer or a free pack is ready. Signing out or deleting your account removes it. |
| App usage and errors | What you do in the app (for example which screens you open, packs you open and trade offers you make, with the set they belong to), recordings of app sessions (screen captures of the app, with typed text, the sign-in screens and your Profile page hidden), crashes and errors, and on iPhone how long network requests take. Linked to your account ID when you are signed in, never to your email or name. We use it to fix bugs and improve the app. |
The apps don’t use your photos, contacts, location or microphone.
When you use ogami.app
The website lets you open packs from links without an account. It keeps a random installation ID and the packs you opened in your browser’s storage, and sends the ID when you get a pack or report a set. If you sign in to keep your cards, Clerk sets the cookies sign-in needs. The website has no analytics.
When you create in Ogami Studio
| Creator profile | The handle and display name you choose, and which accounts are members of the profile, with each member’s email address (owners add members by email) for the members list. |
|---|---|
| Uploads and sets | The photos, artwork and fonts you upload, your card text, designs (with saved versions), odds, drops and the other settings of your sets. Photos are made smaller in your browser and their metadata, including location, is removed before upload. |
Ogami Studio has no analytics.
We don’t show ads, don’t track you across apps or websites, and don’t sell your data.
Where it is stored
- Convex: our database and server.
- Clerk: accounts and sign-in, for the apps, ogami.app and Ogami Studio.
- Cloudflare: stores card images and Studio uploads, hosts ogami.app and dash.ogami.app, and builds link previews in chats.
- PostHog: app usage, session recordings and error reports (apps only). PostHog receives your IP address with this data and may use it to estimate your country or city.
- Apple and Google: sign-in with Apple or Google, if you choose it, and notifications to your phone (Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging), if you allow them.
They process the data only to provide their service to us, and may do so in the United States and other countries. On your phone, the app keeps your cards, packs and offers so they work offline. Signing out removes them from the phone.
Who can see what
- Your collection is private. Other people see only the cards you put in a trade offer.
- Trade offers: anyone with an offer’s link can see it, in the app or on ogami.app: your first name, the cards you offer with their serial numbers, and the cards you ask for. If you post it to the board, every signed-in Ogami user can find it. When someone accepts your offer, you get their cards and the notification shows their first name.
- Reports: creators aren’t told who reported their set.
- Creators: once one of a profile’s sets is live, its handle, display name and live sets are public on its creator page and on its cards. Before that, only the profile’s members and our review team see it. Members and their email addresses are visible only to the profile’s members, never to fans.
- Sets: card images of a live set are public: anyone who opens its packs, its links or its set page sees them.
How long we keep it
- Your data stays while your account exists. Closed trade offers stay in your offer history.
- Reports stay for moderation. After you delete your account, reports you made are kept without your account.
- In Studio, deleting a draft that was never published deletes it and its files. A live set stays as it is, and the cards people got from it stay in their collections, until the set is taken down.
- App usage data stays in PostHog under the retention settings of our PostHog project.
- Our providers keep backups for a limited time under their own policies.
Deleting your data
In the app: tap the Profile button at the top left of Home, then Delete account and Delete my account. It can’t be undone. This deletes:
- your packs, your cards and their serial records, and your free pack timer;
- your trade offers: open ones are cancelled and their cards released, and all of them are deleted, so their links stop working. Offers from other people that you accepted or declined stay in their history without your account;
- your notification tokens;
- your membership in creator profiles. A profile left with no owner is closed: its sets are taken down, so the people who got cards from them lose those cards, and its drafts and uploads are deleted. A profile that still has another owner keeps its sets, drafts and uploads;
- then your sign-in account at Clerk.
Your reports stay, without your account. We keep a record of the deletion request (your account ID and dates) to show it was done. App usage data in PostHog is linked to your account ID only, not your email; email us if you want it deleted sooner than our retention period. Packs you opened on ogami.app without signing in stay with that browser’s ID; clearing the site’s data in your browser removes the ID.
You can also email support@ogami.app from your account’s address and we will delete it for you.
Children
Ogami is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you think a child under 13 has an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@ogami.app. Depending on where you live, you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. For important changes we will also tell you in the app.
